The WWF and the AFC are doing its part in helping the Black Rhino tremenously. The ACF (African Conservation Foundation) help the Black Rhino by building conservation land and keeping poachers away from these animals. They also disassemble traps and ward of any other threat to keep the Black Rhino safe.

Today, Southern Africa is home to the majority of Africa's surviving rhino in what is considered a major conservation success.

WWF's Africa Rhino Programme (ARP) was unveiled in 1997, when black rhino populations were at less than 3,000 and falling in just a fraction of their former range. Now IUCN calculates populations of both black and white rhinos are growing healthily.

However, many rhinoceros subspecies are still listed as Critically Endangered in the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species. Approximately 4,000 black rhino and 22,000 white rhino are all that prevent Africa's rhinos from sliding over the brink, into extinction.
